Just picked this up on Glamorgan Wanderers web site.

Tuesday 18th Nov. Implies senior team friendly? Tried to cross reference on Cardiff Blues site but nothing yet. Playing these types of games in these gaps makes a lot of sense for the Cardiff Blues team.

As a Wanderers member I'm happy but as a Cardiff RFC supporter I want to know when it's our turn.

Late Saturday mornings on international days when Millenium stadium not in use would be a nice warm up for a  days rugby.

Good spot Jim !

This fixture has now been added to our combined fixture list which can be viewed here:

As far as Cardiff Blues advertising the fixture, it would seem to me to be a bit of a fund raiser for Glamorgan Wanderers to reinforce the "regional" perceptions. I guess they will treat it as a run out for those squad members who need it. I suppose it's not vitally important in the great scheme of things to Cardiff Blues

If anyone's going then the 17/18 buses are quite regular from westgate/wood street thru cowbridge road canton. The 18 is quicker but both get you there and back. 200 yards from ground.

Couldn't find the report except on the Glamorgan Wanderers site as follows:-

Glamorgan Wanderers 0  Blues 57

“The score doesn’t honestly reflect how well we played at times” commented coach Richard Hodges after the Wanderers crashed to a resounding defeat to the Blues last night. “The first half performance showed a real commitment against an obviously superior opposition” added Director of rugby Billy James.

On a mild night at the Memorial ground the Premiership side showed that they were not going to be overawed by their illustrious opponents. The pack took the game to the Blues from the off driving into the heart of the Blues defence. The Blues soaked up early pressure and showed their class with their first bit of possession. A break from a penalty put Gareth Thomas away from deep and he opened the scoring with a try. Ceri Sweeney converted. The home side drove again only to be turned over on the Blues 22. Chris Czekaj broke down the left wing and from a ruck deep in Wanderers territory a Sweeney cross kick put Thomas in again (slight hint of offside!). The home side continued to take the game to their regional opponents with most of the play taking place in the Blues half of the field. Geraint Edmunds, Nathan Trevett and Ben Rose were all prominent in Wanderers drives as the visitors were forced to defend for most of the half. When the Blues had possession the home side showed commitment in defence to keep them at bay. The home side set pieces were working well with O’Leary, Price and Trevett giving the Wanderers a solid platform. Just before the break the Blues once again showed their class by adding another Thomas converted try from a slick handling move. The sides went into the break at 0-19.

Half time Harry was unavailable due to the fact that he was appearing on Sky Sports!

The second half took on a totally different complexion. The Wanderers made multiple changes in order to give players game time and the disruption was seized upon by the Blues. Right from the start the visitors got the scoreboard moving with a Richie Rees converted try and soon afterwards they extended the lead to 0-31 with another Thomas, his fourth, try.

A brief raid into the Blues 22 nearly resulted in a Wanderers try but the visitors defence was far too solid. As the final quarter was reached the Wanderers were left in no doubt as to the quality of the opposition as the defence was left chasing shadows and the blues ran in tries from Paul Tito, Rhys Williams and Ceri Sweeney. The final 0-57 score was emphatic but with Neath arriving at the memorial ground in 7 days the Wanderers gained some valuable intense preparation.

“We were able to disrupt huge parts of their game and I think we’ve earned their respect” added coach Chris Ower at the close.

Anyone shed any light on "half-time Harry"?
