Once again we (and Peter and Robert is they cared to listen, to both us and the crowd) could see that the atmorphere is generated from the terraces. Which is why Munster kept them during the revdevelopment of Thomond Park.

Peter Thomas and Robert Norster have had no say in the design of the Cardiff City F.C. stadium.

Cardiff Blues are only renting it from a landlord who is being forced to rent it out to us by Cardiff City Council.

As soon as the agreement period is over we will almost certainly become homeless and of course by then Cardiff Arms Park will be redeveloped.

The all seater stadium is necessary because it has wendyball.

I understand all that AL. The point I was trying to make was to highlight how the atmos will vanish totally come the all seater days at SdR.  One look at the Millstone games proves that.

So there can never be an atmosphere at any all seater ground?? What utter pwp!!!

I would have said that atmosphere is created by good support, Cardiff Blues normally get anything from say 7,500 for an average to low attraction Celtic League game against Connacht up to say 9,000 for an attractive game against good opposition, even 7,500 in our 13,500 capacity Cardiff Arms Park creates a reasonable atmosphere but 9,000 in a 25,000 all seater even with raucous support is not going to.

Exactly my point  - just better put. Having been to the Madjeski and rattled around, there is more atmos IMHO in CAP with 7K crowd.

When we play Edinburgh, Glasgow, Connacht we will rattle around. For other Magners & Euro games - we will rattle unless we get 75% - so 20k - it wont happen - presuming everyone is paying.

I think that, whilst there is a little "over dramatising" in stwi's post, the basic truth is that all-seater stadia have less atmosphere than stadia with terraces.

Manchester United were aware of the problem when they went all-seater  and they tried to overcome the problem but trying to find the "noisy" fans and group then together for the singing etc.

One problem we will have is the vast number of empty seats wit hour average crowd leaving some 15000+ seats empty in the new ground. Even if we assume an increase in support the will still be a hollow ring to the sound there for quite a while.

I agree. The atmosphere is prob going to be pretty poor at the new stadium, not necessarily because its all-seater, but because it will only be a third full for most games.

The fact we got a 27k+ crowd against Glaws was mainly because it was at the MStad, which is an event and a day out in itself for families etc, so i think it's unlikely it would be full for a similar fixture in the near future.

Saying that, the atmosphere at CAP isnt generally much to get excited about IMO, I would hardly think away supporters would leave the ground dazzled by the electric atmosphere at a Cardiff Blues match!!!!!!Sad

Liked the 4 Kiwis from Munster doing their own version of Ka Mate before the AB's did theirs, nice little twist. Looked like a good game, Thomond park looks very nice also

Perhaps, we should go for it as we've got an ex Maori captain to lead.

Backed by Ben and Xavier and perhaps sneak Andy Powell in for extra tongue rolling and grimacing, we should frighten anyone.

I think the hairsprays should do a morris dance as their pre match ritual it might get them working as a team instead of a talented bunch of individuals.
